எனக்கும் நம்ம TNSTC க்கும் ஒரு விதமான பந்தம், என்னுடைய மற்ற நண்பர்கள் பார்வையில் என்னை விஜய் ரசிகனா மாற்றிய பெருமை TNSTCகே… அதாவது அந்த வாரம் சேலம் போக போறேன்னு எப்படித்தான் கண்டக்டர் க்கு தெரியுமோ? அவர் 5,6 விஜய் பட திருட்டு VCD யோட ரெடி ஆகிடுவாரு, இப்படியே நான் விஜய் நடித்த படத்தை விஜயோட அதிகமா பார்ததுத்தேன்…(அதுவும் அந்த சிவகாசி… முடியல சாமி…)

ஆனா ஒரு சேஂஜ்-க்கு இந்த தடவை ரொம்ப வித்தியாசமா மௌன ராகம்…
அய்யோ.. நிஜமா… ரொம்ப நாள் கழிச்சு பயணத்தின் போது ஒரு நல்ல படம்…

தியெட்ரில் செகண்ட் ஷோ! நெடுநாள் கழித்து நண்பர்களுடன்…

நாட்டில் உள்ள எல்லா கம்பியூட்டர் மயமான துறைகளையும் ஹ்யாகர்ஸ்(hackers) (தமிழ் -அ என்னப்பா?) உதவியால் வில்லன் தன்னோட கட்டுப்பாட்டுக்குள்ள கொண்டு வர, எப்படியோ இந்த கேஸ்-ல ஆஜர் ஆகுற ஜான் மேக் கிளென்ன் (ப்ரூஸ் வில்லிஸ்) , (when following one of the hackers for a petty case, the villain group tries to kill hacker, then John saves the hacker from villain group then உள்ள பூந்து பட்டைய கிளப்பரார்) .. வில்லனுடைய ஒவ்வொரு முயற்சியையும் தகர்கிறார்… கடைசில அடி உதை வாங்கி ஜெயிக்கிறார்…

ஆங்கில படங்களின் வெற்றியே , அவற்றின் எளிமையான கதையும், அட்டகாசமான
திரைக்கதையும், டெக்நிகல் அசத்தல் ம் தான்… ஸ்டண்ட்-மாஸ்டர் க்கு ஒரு ஸ்பெஷல் சபாஷ் … அதுவும் அந்த Tunnel sequence அப்பப்பா.. ( சிவாஜியின் கார் சண்டை காட்சிகளை
இதோடு நினைத்து பார்க்கும் போது ஹா..ஹா.. சிரிப்புத்தன் போங்க ஷங்கர்)…கண்டிப்பா பாக்கலாம்….

அதேபோல் யானையை காலாய்த்து தள்ளும் அந்த எலிகள் ஒண்ணாங் க்ளாஸ் …

Ethukku ivlo build up ? s. Right Guess… I am going to right my experience(ayya nijama vimarsanam illai) on Sivaji – The “Mottai” Boss …. (Right illa write nnu solrathu puriyuthu…athan munnadiye solliten la.. ithellam kandukka kudathu…)

Jute …I booked tickets on the first day noon show, everything is confirmed, AN leave, Transport, lunch, dinner plans , but not the tickets 😦 surprisingly no one punched on my face , when I told no tickets at 15th June 11:00 clock … Number 1 ..

Again I booked 6 tickets on the first day but in a different theatre, but due to unavoidable situations , we (shaving set) cant able to make it (Makkale, I still feel that we missed a gr8 chance to see thalaivar movie on the first day first show (athavathu evening) on same theatre where we saw chandramukhi 😦 ) But one of our hardcore Rajini rasigar used this chance with their friends…And I rcvd live commentaries from him tooo… Number 2 ..

Again we got a chance to watch the movie in OOOOOOty (Waiting for the photos for righting the travelogue) … But due to a punnakku friend’s laziness I again missed this … Number 3…

Again in my home town I tried to book the tickets on the beautiful Saturday , with family. But no tickets .. Number 4…

Again … At last booked the ticket by Sunday .. and I came out successfully from the counter with the tickets in hand, all others in the queue are looking at me like karantu kambam … nai .. , But one of my friends gave a sarcastic smile …

If Vijay acted in Sachin – Kushi 2 .. we are nothing to say about it… but if Superstar act in a big moive like this for 3,4,5th time … Hmm..enna solla vithiya .. Is there no other story for Shankar for Superstar in this earth ..huh… Ippo oru kathai contest vaicha kuda egathukku kathai varume …

Ada kathaithan palasu , but puthusa ethavathu kadaivarunnu pona …angeyum ..emartram..
Why in all Tamil movies, the first half is meant for light beginning and the second half meant for high pitched fast moving screen plays…Y cant we stir up the same enthusiasiam from the beginning (Speed, Hulk, Airforce on ,Diehard series, memento (amam Gajini than),the Bourne’s identity and so many) .. Y cant Shankar can think of any thing like this… So as mentioned first half went very light with some poor jokes and kaiyai thookki kannathula soriyum scenes, and pombalaingale thammadikka veliya pogum songs sequences…

Second half, as usual saval vitta thailaivar defeating the villain … with again poor dialouges like “Panninga, singam ” …ussssss.mudiyala .. A misplaced intro song in the second half…A unwanted new getup for thalaivar as per the story line…a unwanted forgery of Passport,GC,driving license, for thalai’s new avatar… ayyooo… a unsuccessful attempt of Matrix fight… For a villain like Suman I think this fight is too much … Nothing impressive in this Fight… No directorial touch in the end..Only Masala smell…

Rajini… Still wonder in his 60’s how this man, walks,talks,dance,moves this much speed…?Enna kayakalpam sapdringa thalaiva .. It’s obvious that to bring down the age by half using the make-ups and outfits.. But Thalai tried and almost won in this … He looks pretty good … Applause to his new getup change…intha galathula vagudu mathi edukamale sila per nadichitu thiriyarappo thalaivar mottai special than (Ana mottai padam ellam flop agumo … ex: Alavandhan)

Shreya… Tamil ponnu only in introduction scene (I remember that BOYS graphics girl in temple… she fits in that) …But Hollywood actress impact in songs … She fits in to all the outfits…

Vivek… Not much impressive, I liked him in Anniyan much … “Ennala nambave mudiyalada?”
Suman… Thee sumana ithu …amma…sonna mathiri pannithan …

-The amount that Government earned from this movies (in karnataka alone 11 Lakh per day for Tax department – for 11 theatres … yammadi ….)

song in Sun music many times, and made an impression to watch the movie…. I will say u
better watch sunmusic daily at the same time…Anyways for next tamilar thirunaal, this movie
will be in ur TV “Indiya tholaikatchigalil …”

U would crossed a movie in which Vivek taking up a role “karuthu kandasami” … What happens
if all characters in a movie take this role ??? not as a comedian …but seriously advicing
..in each scene… uffff…pothumda sami…

Review : ennathe review panni ? ennathe ? But still as thalaivar said ” Naalu perrukku
nallathu pannanumna “…ding ding ding da doing …. To save my friends I am writing this …
Hae , tel me how u wil feel if everything and everybody in ur life are connected , Mornig u
wake up , goto tea shop , that tea shop owner is ur onnu vitta sittapa … Go to K.mangala in
auto, surprise that autodriver is ur closest friend’s relative, u buy a movie ticket , in the
counter , hae … he is ur mama’s wife’s annan’s mamnar…

Yes , the same here in the movie … Hero – a “live the current moment” (hae thatz my slogan
toooo!!!) falls in love with Sada (or saada) at first sight, then becoz of her suspicious
attitude their love breaks-off… Hero is vazhisal party to all the girls, and justifies that
as “take-it-easy” policy 😦 kashtamda …

Hero leaving to Australia, he finds a bubbly next seat girl, whoz is fond of friendship, she
becomes gud friend of our hero, surprise She is roommate of our heroine in Australia, But how
come our heroine in australia , that to in same city, echikuchmy , ur watching tamil movie,
u shud leave ur brain at pop-corn counter… So again some dash-bash between hero and
heroine.

One fine day , Hero meets a tamilian in Australian hotel, remember that butti guy in ullam
ketkume , Parthasarathy…Jeeva was in a thinking that he can use P.S as comedian , but
paavaam ethuvum workout agalai…So now 4 gang roams around Australia and they keep on talking abt love, issue ,love, issue…

At the end , hero joins our bubbly girl, heroine has left alone in some other city , with a
self – satisfaction that, she failed in love without understanding our hero… ThankGod the
movie ends here…

Yes you can write the story in the back side of the bus ticket…The best thing u can do is
download the songs from xyz site, and enjoy it … Really its worth to listen the songs , or
to watch the songs .. Thanks to Harris and Jeeva , who helped the film to run for 3 hrs …

WARGAMES… April 25, 2007

Yesterday I saw “Wargames” in SonyPix, while switching between channels, (at that time the match was boring)… The movie was released in 1983. A very old movie , but the initial sequence of the movie , got the attention towards it.

The movie is about the period of the cold war between USA and Soviet. The starting scene goes like this,Two scientist in Military operation center,takes the shift and starting the work for the day. After sometime, they are getting nuclear missile alert, i.e. Nuclear Missile Launch command from the top. But they are not doing the launch. Actually it was not a original command, it was a psychological test , where 20% of the members are failing in this test.(not launching the missile). So the management decides to automate the whole system. So they are ending up with “War Operation Plan Response” or WOPR for the same.

David, a high school student, who is interested in small network hacking, (in introduction he hacks into the school network and changes his grade from F to A) and interested in games. One day he accidentally get into the WOPR network , where he finds lots of games. He gains the access on to the games part of that network. He tries to hack the system using several password,but he fails. but after lots of discoveries he found Dr.Falken, who developed the system , and studies about him more and finds the password is “josuha” , his son name.

He successfully cracked in to the system and commands the system to play a game, “Global Thermonuclear War”, which is the nuclear attack game between Soviet and USA. He chooses , Soviet as player and launches missiles over Seattle and Las Vegas, without knowing the consequences. The Command initiates the system and raises the high alert in the Military operation center (MOC). The message reaches till President, and David come to know this via News channels. Being a afraid kid , he runs-away from home. The WOPR contacts David and tells that the games in progress and still to win. David arrested by FBI and bring in to chief of the operations John , (who was the assistant for Falken). By enquiring David , John came to know its just Simulation, but nobody believes. David again escaping from MOC with a school team who visits the place. He leaves to Goose island where Falken lives, with his girl friend. After so much talk with Falken (he tells the name of his son and gets the interest) . Falken come to know the problem and willing to help David.

Meanwhile reacting WOPR’s simulations, MOc initiates attack over Soviet. Falken comes for the help and suggests the General that its only the simulation. General calls the air force bases and confirms its only the simulation , it has no impact on the bases. But now they are not able to stop the launch command, the control is got by WOPR, even with the password they cant break the system. WOPR initiates the launch command with 10 digit code, which itself creates and fixing the time to attack.

Falken comes up with an idea to avoid this. He asks David to play a game with WOPR and try to take control. But nothing works. David founds that all the games are implemented in the system , except tic-tac-toe, which is a self learning game, so he starts tic-tac-toe, the players are WOPR and WOPR itself. After attempting many tries , WOPR results only with “no winner”. It tries all the combination ,but all games ends with tie. Meanwhile the launch code got discovered and WOPR aborts the game and calculates the effect of simulations on attack with US. and also to Soviet. and declaring the result as No Winner. It calculates the scenario with all the countries with nuclear missile strikes, enter into loop , resulting “no winner”. After this much complicated loop, WOPR comes to a conclusion and displays that “this is a strange, game” , there is no point in play ahead, and calling the crew to choose some other game. MOC cheers this victory over WOPR and congrats David and Falken for their efforts.

The movie was nicely written , even after 24 years it creates same tension. But by seeing a big machine with blinking LCD’s , somehow I suddenly remember captain , I donno y ? 🙂

Nice movie to watch , try ur luck ,if Sony PiX replays it in sometime….

an unveiling and a new beginning … February 19, 2007

* Villain gang shouts, and after a question like “Evanda athu antha —–?” , then Hero enters , with 1000 swords whisking near your ears sound, 20 angles of hero…(Thanks to non-working DTS system, how efficiently our engineers wasting the technology..hmm..) and deliveries a lengthy dialogue(Short interval)

* Hero approaches heroine and delivery lengthy dialogues abt culture and comparisons …then heroine showing 100watts in her face…

* Hero’s friends saying ‘Machan, unnai ippadi engala pakka mudiyala, thirumbavum ezhunthu vada..sathichu kamida..’, where hero fell down in a gr8 love failure, and he regains his energy and improves himself …

* 1000 of people running towards hero , shouting “Ur against that, urn against this, we cant eat dosai with spoon …blahblah…and a critical situation for music director and cinematographer to use their skills to show the seriousness of the scene (verenna again 1000 swords and 20 angels)…

* “Nee chinna vayasula Omlet ketta , ana namma veetla dosai kaalu illa, athanala pakku veetu mariyapponada thalaiyila kashtapattu omlet oothi unakkaga kothu intha annanai partha ippadi oru vaarthai ketuta” pondra sentiment dialoagues…

R u one of the fellows who got irritated and getting irritated by one of above situations …. then u must be poor latest Tamil movie watching fellows… god bless you…(samples pokkiri,aalwar,veerasami,tharmapuri)

Recently me got a chance to watch an ultimate movie, even I can say an ultimate experience to go thru the lives of those gr8 people.

Yes this blog is again about a Movie review, but I say this is a completely new for me. Unfortunately I watched in VCD 😦 otherwise it would have been more pleasant (if in theatre or DVD). As usual on last weekend I went to cd shop and looked at a glance for all latest English stuffs, came across the movie called “Apocalypto” ( which in Greek means “an unveiling and a new beginning” ) , in that cd cover I could find only two words A Film by Mel Gibson , Apocalypto) I got inspired by Mel Gibson direction after watching “Passion of the Christ” the way he told the last hours of Jesus, was very good and very close …

So I got the CD, Loaded it and I dint move an inch from the start, (Thanks for the writer(CD writer), the sound and picture quality was good )… Ok lets start… A Lengthy one !!!

The movie starts with following lines

Opening quote: “A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within.” — W. Durant

The story begins the period where Spanish entered South America starts from a group of men belongs to hardcore tribe hunting for a forest swine, their hunt has some traps in it. After the hunt, a group of people are moving from one side of forest to another side , they are full of fear and the head for the groups asking permission to cross the forest where ,Flint Sky (Head) and he continues that their lands are ravaged. After this incident Our group returns to their village a small and happy filled village , where Jaguar Paw (Son of Flint Sky) stays with his wife and son. In the night the story teller of their village tells a story followed by music and dance. Jaguar Paw was deeply thinking on the happenings of morning and future life.

In early morning, in his dreams, the same fellow comes and tells him “RUN!” and that guy is holding his heart in his hand…Frightened Jaguar Paw awakes from sleep and silently watching his wife sleeping, suddenly a group of men ,Mayans , as Zero wolf as the lead warrior, attacking the villagers, who are all in sleep. Jaguar Paw allots a place for his wife, son (a well kind of) and returns to village fighting against the group but, the village is almost conquered and Flint Sky was killed in front of Jaguar Paw and the men and women are captured by the Group leaving the dead and some children.

The journey from the village to the destination is long and hard , where they need to cross a river, till that point the children are walking along side.

After a horrible journey , the slaves are reaching the destination , where a civilization of Mayan’s are well spreaded and huge. The women captured are into an auction process and the men are moved into a top of the stair cased pyramid’s top. There King’s family and the priest are worshiping the god and serving the god by sacrificing the captivates. Now its turn of Jaguar Paw…When he is put into the process, the eclipse comes. The priest telling the crowd that the SUN God is satisfied and this is the intimation from him, He shouts to the sky “Oh, God! If you feel you are satisfied please come back from Dark, Let us make happy by shining ur light.” The Eclipse moves away and the crowd owes, the king make his present to the people and blesses them.

Now Jaguar Paw and his group lead in to the play ground, where they are forced to run from one end to another end, and the men of Zero wolf killing them by throwing the javelins and by arrows. If still the slaves are reached the destination , then Zero Wolf son who is waiting on the other end will kill them. When Jaguar paw runs he makes a quick run and he almost escapes from all the arrows. Zero Wolf comes in to the play and he shoots him by a arrow, But still Jaguar Paw makes his move by killing the Zero wolf son and escaping in to the forest. The angered Zero wolf and group chases him. The Chase was amazing and thrilling , where the hurt Jaguar paw runs for his life.

On the way he met with a black jaguar and escapes from it and one of the Zero Wolf’s men got into attack by Black Jaguar, the others kill the Jaguar and chase continues. When Jaguar paw reaches the river , it leads him to a great Fall, where he is not afraid take any risk, so he is fell in the waterfall and raises in the bottom and shouts at the Zero Wolf group “My name is Jaguar Paw, Am the king of this Forest, I own this Forest, after me my son will rule” (Where same wordings said by Flint Sky ,father of Jaguar). Angered Zero Wolf orders his group to follow him. He kills some of the hesitant. The chase continues into the forest known to Jaguar Paw.

At a point he stops running and setting the trap to kill the group. He kills one by one , Zero wolf also killed by the same trap used to kill the swine. Finally Jaguar Paw reaches the Well where he left his Wife and son, but there are still two hunters following him. Finally he reaches the seashore, where the spanians are approaching them, by groups using rowboats. While the two men are shocked by seeing them. Jaguar Paw escapes from their and return to the well and safeguards his family. Meanwhile his wife gave birth to another child, So at the end the wife asks him “Shall we go to them?” , but Jaguar Paw says “No! We need to seek a new beginning” the last line.

The movie is filled with stunning cinematography, sound effects. The chase scenes are making you to come to the edge (of my bed 😉 ). Another important thing to notice is the make-up. The mind blowing make-up is making the you to travel and live the characters.

Even though the movie has more vulgarity and nudity in some scenes, it is terrific journey for me to go through the movie and I enjoyed a lot watching this. The language used in this movie is the ancient language used by Mayan’s. So the English subtitle is there throughout the movie. It was nominated for Oscar in three section, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing and Makeup.

I suggest this movie for those who lost their interest by watching the movies like Sivakasi,thirupatchi,Aalwar, Tharmapuri, Veerasami,pokkiri … but it is a pure rounded A certificate movie, mind that.

still how to make the movie a flop … u wanna know ?! … Please watch ‘Sillendru Oru Kathal’

We started our journey to Bangalore(from electronic city,we usually call it like this)… an hour before the movie…Catched Bus…shifted to auto…walked and gave entry inside the theatre.. half-hour late..First time we booked online, and we trusted the automatic ticket machine.But its cheated . It gave only 2 tickets instead of 3. (That was the first sign it gave, but ‘Vidhi yaarai vithathu’! )
Even I asked my 2 frnds to go inside and I can handle the situation with the theatre management.But they never left me…(‘Yerkanave parthu irupangalo’!)

Asusual dark hall, mobile lights, Ouch !!!(sound frm the next seater!) … Got the seat…Song started…Bit relaxed..The difference here is, in TN even if the fellow come jus 5 min b4 interval, without any hesitation they wil ask next fellow “When the movie started?” … Here we dint … 🙂

Movie started quite good only… we bit relaxed…Director woke up…we slept…:)

As all of you guys would have watched that movie by this time and analysed more on that,am jus going to tell few points which is not at all fair in this movie…

* Never go for a movie (especially surya movie) by jus being impressed by stills n hoardings…(This is the second time, first one ?! ‘the gr8 MAYAVI’)

* Never growup ur expectations by jus listening the songs … Newyork nagaram songs ..OMG….I simply cant blv it..the whole song shootout was in Lucern,Swiss.. where I was roamed 5 months back … I totally shocked by that … So now-a-days njoying the song only in Audio…Moreover a sad song…Lover express his sad feelings.. and they shooted it in bright sun, colorful background ..yeakkkhhhh… enna rasanaiyo …

* Moreover I was a fan of that kid,I had her photo, gtom anandhavikatan , she posed for RMKV … So thatz the only ‘arudhal’..

* Bhookima – is ‘bloomika’ in first part…

* We guys had a gr8 time by discussing the different names for the movies thatz
gng to come near future, with the same kinda storyline… someof them 4 ur view.

VV – what do v need more? August 28, 2006

Last saturday went to my fav. actors long time awaiting movie…
“Machi! Reviews from my frnds are ‘itz merely a hollywood movie da’ “
“Dei! No one said ,it boring or u can c, everybody said superb”

So with all this hype we went for VV, second show, prayed “No family in front seat”, usually am good boy;) in theatre ..But when some occasions like this comes ,(once in year) I wanna freak out.. So we prefer second shows.But tragedy, there were so many families for second show .. I wonder on a weekend , holiday, y these guys are with their family for a second show !!! woooofff..

Now ,things to say abt movie … as a “thirvira” fan of kamal , I blv this is not sufficient story line, and scope for Kamal. But even he has done his best… Itz very interesting to watch Kamal as police officer. Stylish, commanding Police… No single dosage of “Vijaykanth” 😉

Story was as usual , a investigation of serial murders … How Kamal introduced to that , how he resolves that … Could hv been a pure investigation story …but for Tamizh fans , there comes Jo.. from the sky …

For Cinemotography, Editing u need to give 5! Well done guys … really admired …

Abt songs , as you know,a nothing but good … nice melodies, hip hops … !

Comng to the – ves, so many to point out .. coz Kamal movie ! 🙂

* Jo is not related to story anywhere , even without her movie would have been more fast !
* Songs picturization could have been better( partha muthal naale , started similar like ennai koncham matri , which scared me alot! )
* Investigation part should been more !
* Too much flashback (even villain has one !)
* BGM score could have been better!
* Padam seekaram vandhu irukalam!
* Y new york ?
* Y Kamal is so dull in fight scenes ..?

But consolidating all the efforts, the theme and approach are really nice, and technically film speaks more!

At the end my frnd said “Only the date and time tracking in the movie is like hollywood style” 😦

As for my point of view A stylish, technically sound movie…which needs some fastfwd in Jo section ..
